When it was time to build a new home, this family knew that they wanted a contemporary design with lots of light and easy flow between living zones. With its clean, minimalist aesthetic and attention to details, this home is the epitome of luxury family living. This double-storey home has four spacious bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs; a well equipped kitchen that any chef would love; and beautifully appointed living and entertainment areas. The homeowners who are both busy professionals with two young children wanted to create a home that was practical, calming and relaxing. The wife who studied Graphic Design was very influential in coordinating the design and décor of this home. With its modern shape and finishes this residence impresses from the moment you walk through the main doorway.

Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining room which is ideal for sitting together and savouring meals – this room is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows which allow plenty of natural light in together with views of the lush garden. And upstairs is the perfect sanctuary. Far away from the hustle and bustle of work is the sumptuous master bedroom with its own fabulous walk-in closet, en-suite plus a quiet study area.

A Persian Perspective
As well as having roots in Brunei these homeowners also have strong family ties to Persia. Hence, turquoise or Persian blue can be seen in personal artefacts which adorn their walls and shelves. The wife explained the meaning of two of the Persian items which were displayed, “The mirror and candle sticks are traditional gifts in Persian weddings and they are also the first items that are brought to our home as newlyweds.  These gifts are supposed to bring us the same love and good luck that we received during our wedding. The mirror reflects what is before it, so symbolically it is meant to bring us abundance and brightness in our future. The candles bring passion and energy.” Looking around there are also beautiful Persian rugs and scripts alongside quaint etchings collected from holidays spent in Italy. These personal items give this contemporary home its unique character and warmth.

Perfect Proportions
Light, bright and airy – the living and entertaining areas are spacious and have been designed for sharing family time. What is noticeable throughout this home is that the owners have opted for durable, quality furniture and appliances. In the living areas the imported soft furnishings are ideal for lounging around after a long day at the office or at school; the wooden window shutters lend a touch of tropical style to the rooms; and a neutral colour palette add to the soothing ambiance of this home. In the kitchen the storage space is functional and the appliances which include a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher are from world renowned brands. From simple snacks to gourmet meals it can all be prepared in this kitchen which has been designed to accommodate cooking and baking enthusiasts.

This home captures the true essence of modern family living. It is the perfect place for a family to create unforgettable memories.
